BOII

From retail-first to wholesale-ready: Boii builds a scalable foundation

When fashion brands move from retail and e-commerce into wholesale, the demands on systems change fundamentally. That was exactly the situation Boii found itself in when the company decided to expand its business model and prepare for wholesale operations.

For CEO Lars Andresen, the decision was not about adding yet another system. It was about creating a solid, industry-specific foundation that could support growth without adding unnecessary complexity.

From retail-first to wholesale ambitions

Boii has until now, operated primarily as a B2C business. The company runs eight own retail stores alongside an e-commerce setup and employs around 12 people at head office, more than 55 employees in stores.

Historically, the system landscape reflected that setup. Retail stores ran on POS solutions, e-commerce operated separately, and Business Central was used only for basic financial management.

“When I joined, we had several systems doing different things. For example, finance was handled in Business Central, but only on a very basic level. In my world, that could just as well have been a simple accounting system,” Lars explains.

With the decision to establish a wholesale business, that setup was no longer sufficient. Collections, pricing structures, stock management, cost calculations, and wholesale customers introduced a level of complexity that demanded a more integrated approach.

“I want a unified system where finance, purchasing, a sales portal, and product-related structures live together,

The fewer systems you have, the fewer points of failure. And the fewer vendors you rely on, the easier everything is to maintain.”

A clear need for one consolidated platform

For Lars, the goal was clear from the beginning: fewer systems, better integration, and less operational risk.

“I want a unified system where finance, purchasing, a sales portal, and product-related structures live together,” he says.

“The fewer systems you have, the fewer points of failure. And the fewer vendors you rely on, the easier everything is to maintain.”

That naturally led Boii toward a Business Central environment. But choosing the platform was only part of the decision. Choosing the right partner mattered just as much.

“What really matters is that TRIMIT understands fashion. We don’t have to start by defining what a collection is, how seasons work, or what NOS means. You’re simply a few steps ahead,”

A familiar solution from a familiar industry

TRIMIT was not an unknown name to Lars. From his previous roles as CEO at Second Female and Becksöndergaard Copenhagen, he had already worked extensively with TRIMIT in a fashion context:

“What really matters is that TRIMIT understands fashion. We don’t have to start by defining what a collection is, how seasons work, or what NOS means. You’re simply a few steps ahead,” Lars explains.

That industry knowledge was a decisive factor. TRIMIT’s experience with fashion-specific processes, combined with their understanding of EU regulations and compliance requirements, gave Boii confidence that the solution would be aligned with both current and future needs.

“At the moment, I’m more or less a one-man army. I’m CEO, but I also need to understand finance, systems, purchasing, and operations. So "Fashion Fast Track" immediately sounded like the most realistic and economical approach.”

Fewer systems. Less complexity. More control.

Beyond fashion expertise, the appeal of TRIMIT lay in its ability to consolidate processes across the business.

Until now, Boii had operated with separate systems for retail, e-commerce, and finance. Integrations existed, but they were limited, and the overall setup lacked cohesion.

“Some of the systems we’ve used had clear limitations. They weren’t fully integrated, and that creates friction. I like the idea that with TRIMIT, many of the things we need are already part of the platform,” Lars expresses.

At the same time, Lars highlights the importance of flexibility – especially when it comes to integrating with external solutions for web:

“It’s relatively easy to integrate Business Central with simpler systems. That gives us freedom to choose the best tools where it makes sense, without losing control of the core.”

This balance between structure and flexibility aligns closely with TRIMIT’s philosophy: We Mind Your Business.

TRIMIT Fashion FastTrack: starting simple, building for growth

One of the reasons why Boii chose TRIMIT was the TRIMIT Fashion FastTrack concept – a streamlined, industry-focused implementation approach designed for fashion companies that want to get started quickly without overengineering from day one. Lars explains:

“At the moment, I’m more or less a one-man army. I’m CEO, but I also need to understand finance, systems, purchasing, and operations. So FastTrack immediately sounded like the most realistic and economical approach.”

FastTrack focuses on establishing the essential processes of a fashion business: Finance, basic product structures, and sales setup – while leaving room to expand later as the organization grows.

“It felt like a good way to start simple and then build on top of it. Not everything needs to be implemented at once,” Lars says.

This balance between structure and flexibility aligns closely with TRIMIT’s philosophy: We Mind Your Business.

Preparing for wholesale – step by step

As part of the partnership, Boii has chosen TRIMIT’s B2B portal and Sales Agent solution – key components for supporting the upcoming wholesale business.

With wholesale customers, collections, stock buildup, and order handling becoming central, having a dedicated sales portal is no longer optional:

“When you start working with wholesale, you need structure and control over pricing, stock, and calculations. That’s simply not possible without the right systems in place.”

At the same time, Boii has been clear that this is the beginning of the journey – not the end. The collaboration is still new, and the real value will be realized gradually as the wholesale business develops and the platform is used more actively across the organization.

A platform chosen with the future in mind

For Lars, choosing TRIMIT was ultimately a strategic decision driven by long-term thinking rather than short-term optimization.

“For me, there was really only one direction: to move into a Business Central environment and build things properly,” he says.

“Both because of the new sales initiatives and because some of the systems we’ve used simply aren’t sufficient anymore.”

With TRIMIT, Boii gains a platform that can grow alongside the business without the need to replace systems as complexity increases.

It’s a conscious choice rooted in experience, realism, and a clear understanding of where the company wants to go.

Not overambitious. Not overengineered. Just a solid foundation built to support growth, when the time is right.

Why Fast Track made sense for Boii Studios

For Boii Studios, Fast Track was not about cutting corners – it was about making pragmatic choices. Lars explains:

“I’d much rather have a meeting with Claus (or someone else) from TRIMIT, who understands styles, sizes, and fashion logic, than sit with a room full of developers. If something needs integrating, that can be handled at another layer.”

Equally important was the trust in TRIMIT’s experience:

“I’m not afraid to test something like this, because you’ve done it many times before. This isn’t experimental – it’s about making things simpler and placing more responsibility with us instead of consultants.”

From Lars’ perspective, the latest version of Fast Track covers all the fundamental needs, including finance, while providing a clear path for future expansion.
